Harvard Ballroom proudly hosts two annual collegiate competitions, Harvard Beginners in the fall and Harvard Invitational in the spring. Harvard Beginners is a competition dedicated to newcomers to ballroom dance that also features a Rookie-Vet Fun Dance where rookies partner up with vets in a fun competition topped off with wacky costumes and funky moves. Competitors compete in all syllabus levels from newcomer to gold, with a special showcase featuring prominent open couples that always manages to whoo the crowd. Moreover, Harvard Invitational is a competition spanning all levels of collegiate dance from syllabus to champ, attracting dancers from all over the Northeast coast. The evening session, the Hanlon Ford Gala, boasts a world class professional showcase couple, social dancing, and the final rounds of the open level competition.
We are happy to announce that the 21st Harvard Beginners Ballroom Dance Competition will be held on October 13th at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Furthermore, the 29th Annual Harvard Invitational Ballroom Dance Competition will be taking place on April 4 & 5, 2020 at Northwest Labs on the Harvard College Campus. We look forward to seeing you there!
