The Harvard Ballroom Dance Team is proud to announce this year's performers: World Professional Standard Champions Arunas Bizokas & Katusha Demidova.
Arunas Bizokas
Arunas started dancing when he was 7 years old as an after school activity in Lithuania. Primarily, it was his mothers idea so he didn't like it very much, but it was fun because a lot of his classmates were there. He also played sports at the same time, swimming, basketball and a little bit of football. By the age of 13 after having good results at competitions, he decided to pursue dancing as his profession. Arunas had a very successful Amateur career, he won all the major competitions. He is an amateur World Champion, Blackpool, UK and International Champion. After splitting with his partner in Lithuania, he decided to move to the United States of America, starting a very successful career with Katusha.
Katusha Demidova
Katusha started dancing when she was 7 years old at the community center by her house in Moscow, Russia. She also did figure skating at the same time, but always loved dancing more. At age 12, even though she took both dancing and figure skating very seriously, it was impossible to keep up with both at the same level, so she picked ballroom dancing. Katusha turned professional when she was only 15 years old. At the age of 17 she moved to the United States of America to pursue her dancing career. With her previous partner Jonathan Wilkins, Katusha won United States Professional Ballroom Championships 10 times and was a grand finalists of the World Major competitions, such as World Championship, Blackpool, International and UK. Soon after ending her partnership with Jonathan, she started dancing with Arunas. They won their first competition, Ohio Star Ball, after only 1 month of dancing together and were placed Runner Ups at the United Kingdom Championship a week later.
